My wife and I recently went to the 40th Sheep Dip show(excellent). My wife is handicapped and when she used the ladies room near the Oyster Bar restraunt she went to the handicapped stall. She didn't pay attention to the height of the toilet thinking it would be handicapped. It wasn't and she landed extremely hard on the low seat. She will be bed-ridden for the next 3 days because of this. We suggest that when you replace the toilets in the casino to do so in all of them with handicapped height seats. Most adults have trouble with low seats made for children. Thank you

John's Nugget has the best indoor pool in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area, including eight mini-pools and a large waterfall. The second floor has a great arcade for kids. For rooms there are two towers inside (new tower is west), a motel section outside, and "courtyard rooms" (small and often with no windows). No complaints about the quality of either tower. Make sure you know which rooms you are booking. The food is not cheap but the buffet is of good quality. The casino and service is fine and one of the few with DOA single deck blackjack.

Follow up comment - We just stayed in the OLDER side of the hotel. WHAT A DIFFERENCE from the newer towers. The older ones are NOT SOUNDPROOFED in any way. They are also located next to the TRAIN DEPO.

We were rudely awakened by crashing train cars at 3AM - loud thunderous booms sounded like the hotel was collapsing. Sounds of frisky couples pounding each other could also be easily heard FROM THE OUTSIDE HALLWAY without diffculty - at least she sounded like she enjoyed it. If you were in the rooms next to them, it was like having a porno on with the volume at a low level - seriously. We would tell when they switched positions. We never noticed anything like this staying in the newer rooms.

The Nugget has a great casino, but some very basic rooms. Most of the "tower" rooms are simplistic at best. The jacuzzi suites are very large, but sparse. The jacuzzi takes forever to fill. Just an observation. The wife said that the jacuzzi room felt dark, just not enough light to fill the room - even with the windows exposed. The service here is EXCELLENT. The Steakhouse is a MUST VISIT. The food is incredibile and the price is right. Make reservations!
The Ozroko restaurant has some bizarre hours of operations. They serve Champagne breakfasts, when they are open. This is the only major downer - I wish this was open more frequestly. We ended up eating at the buffet since Ozroko was closed. The Casino Hosts are great and we receive comps on a regular basis. The Showroom is also quite good with big-name shows. This is a great deal for Hot August Nights. Rooms are about $99. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
