My wife and I have stayed at the Golden Phoenix Casino in Dec. & Jan. of this
year. The service we received was excellent during our stay. Vino's Italian
Restaurant was excellent with great service. I highly recommend this Casino
to everykone who enjoys great service with a small casino flair.

This was a great hotel over the thanksgiving weekend and my friend and i enjoyed the foodoutlets, and the nightly dancing at renos hottest nightclub, the top.
will be visiting shortly again. The new italian restaurant Vinos was great and the choice of dancing at Vinos and the Top gave us a good variety.

for the price and location this hotel fit our needs. The various speciality dining and casual dining locations were reasonable and we did not find it pricey. We also loved the fact that the place had a great rooftop steak house with views of the entire city and is the only restaurant of its kind. Above all the rates at the hotel were very reasonable and the staff very friendly.

This is one of the few hotels that has many restaurants and back to back entertainment shows and most of all the service is great.

Shuttle service was poor, no regular pickups from the airport. Leaving the tanks empty in shuttle run from hotel to airport. Hotel employees nice, but stains in carpets, doors to rooms looking like they were at one time or another broken into, windows bolted closed, light in bathroom flickers the 2nd night there and not replaced after our 3rd night. Wouldn't stay again.

We walked into our NASTY,DIRTY,FILTHY room only to have my 4 yr old niece open the curtain and LEAN OUT of a window that was WIDE OPEN! I still cannot reach any management to complain to and to fix the window. We were moved the next day to another room-just as nasty and filthy- pee in the toilet..need I go on? We stayed both nights with a friend at her home. PIG STY! YUCK

We held a judge training seminar at the Golden Phoenix in early Oct. 2003.
This facility was choosen due to their willingness to comp rooms, and reduce room rates (for week day rooms).
From the moment of our arrival, until after we departed the service was poor, rooms had been overbooked, rooms were not clean, front desk was rude, and understaffed. Our attendees were made to wait for rooms, that had not been cleaned.
The overall attitude of the front desk, and manager, were that we were getting such a good deal on our rooms that we should not be complaining.
The complimentary suite, which was in our contract, was not available for the seminar trainers, and our bags were sent to a regular room, despite our written contract. It took one full day to retify this problem and many trips to the front desk.
The air condidtioning did not work in at least 4 of the 15 rooms we had attendees staying in. Some of our people had clothing stolen from their rooms, and several complained about having no general services in their rooms, like coffee makers, blow dryers, irons, etc...
The bell boys were pleasant, as were the valet people, but they were obviosuly working for tips. there was a lady by the name of Michelle at the front desk that was finally able and willing to help us.
It would take 15 - 20 rings when calling the front desk from your room for them to answer the phone. The Ace's diner was understaffed, and had mediocre food. The list could go on and on.
This is not a place I would expect to see stay in business very long, without some major management and staff changes.
We left with a print out showing our room with a zero balance, and four days later the listed credit card was charged for two nights in the complimmentary room.

i decided to stay at this property over new years eve. Some how i managed to find a rate of only $29.00 for 3 nights so i could not pass it up. There was a mess up with me reservation but luckilly i printe dmy e-mail confirmation and brought that with me so they honored my rates. Always do that!!The hotel check in desk only had one person working. The room was not that great and the walls were paper thin. we had to call downstairs twice to complain about the people next to us becasue they were so loud. We ended up switching rooms the next day. We ate at Benihanas which was great. The casino was not to busy which was a plus and they did have many of the new slots. There are much nicer places to stay in my opinion. Stay at the Sands before you stay here.

We were traveling with a group of 4 other couples. We had made the reservations at least one month in advance and had all requested King beds in a No-Smoking room with everyone staying on the same floor. Check in time was at 3:00 and the rooms were not ready. At 4:30 they told us they not only couldn't put us all on the same floor, they didn't have any King No-Smoking rooms left. To appease us, they upgraded us all to Queen Suites, but we still wouldn't all be on the same floor. We agreed to this and finally got our rooms. First of all, the carpets on our floor were heavily stained as were the carpets in our room. There were numerous burn holes in the carpet and on the bathroom sinks (these were supposed to be Non Smoking floors!) There were stains on the ceiling and on the furniture. But the worst of all, when we got ready to leave and were thoroughly checking the room to make sure we hadn't left anything, my husband found dried vomit on the carpet next to my side of the bed. This hotel is totally disgusting and I will never stay there again!!
